Master in Business Administration - MBA
The Department of Business Administration at DEI College, in collaboration with the University of Sunderland, aims to train postgraduate students in areas that will build a successful business career using an internationally recognized degree. Postgraduate programmes provide a dynamic and balanced ratio of managerial know-how and academic expertise, equipping prospective graduates with valuable practical knowledge directly from the marketplace, leadership skills, self-confidence and competitive advantages, unconventional way of thinking and innovative critical ability, orientation towards solutions and entrepreneurial spirit with a globalized and extroverted outlook.
The Postgraduate Programme in Business Administration - MBA is ideal for graduates who want an internationally recognized postgraduate degree, with direct access to the business market. The curriculum is designed to provide a dynamic and balanced ratio of managerial know-how and academic expertise, equipping future business executives and members of organizations with the necessary qualifications.
The MBA programme is aimed at those who:
- Wish to gain valuable practical knowledge directly from the market
- Seek to develop their critical ability and knowledge on current issues that concern businesses
- Want to acquire qualitative and quantitative knowledge related to problem solving
- Wish to gain an extroverted view of the business world so that they can gain a competitive advantage in the job market
The programme lasts twelve months and it starts in October-November and in January-February of each academic year.

Students will be introduced to the main areas of financial management and financial control. They will study the role of accounting in the preparation of strategic plans, the measurement and comparison of financial performance, the concept of an entity's cost in operational and strategic management, and the overall management and cost analysis. At the same time students will learn the methods of costing and control, the principles of strategic planning in decision making and the concept of budget. They will study budget preparation and financial control, investment opportunity evaluation, business financing decisions and the role of working capital in providing business financing.
After studying financial management and control, students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in exploring various topics in the field of strategy and international business, as the business world is increasingly moving towards a global perspective. During the program, key and current issues related to international and global strategic management will be examined, studying the design of strategic management and leadership processes, as well as the ways in which strategic decisions affect the operation of organizations that do business both domestically and internationally.
Students will have the opportunity to study and develop their personal leadership style, through a range of leadership and management theories. During the program students will explore topics such as strategy and change, the three levels of strategy and decision making, differences between management and leadership, leadership attitudes and motivations, emotional intelligence and personal leadership style, transactional and transformational leadership and overall human resource development planning.

Students will develop critical thinking about how organizations create value for customers through the integration of key aspects of operations and marketing management strategy. During the program, students will study value creation as the primary goal of organizations, whether they are start-ups or existing ones, from the initial ideas for products and services to the diffusion into new markets. Students will be taught basic concepts, models and theories of modern operations management and marketing management strategy and will focus on the application of frameworks that include the basic functions of an organization.
This section examines the current challenges in today's volatile competitive environment. Key topics include: value creation and innovation, aspects of operations management related to the design, planning, control and improvement of operations, the importance of cogeneration relationships and the appreciation of the innumerable channels through which customers experience and interact with businesses.
- MBA Project
In collaboration with the department's academic supervisor and using an applied business research approach, students will choose the format of their final project among a dissertation, an applied corporate project, a corporate project or a business dissertation. Each student's dissertation should include a clear summary, a summary of the organization being researched, a review of the relevant academic literature and the extraction of valid research questions from both the literature and the organization or business issues. At the same time the student should make a review of the methodological issues related to the research topic, including the critical evaluation of alternative research methodologies and their limitations, a review of the research method adopted and the data collection techniques, which include interviews, observations and . participant observation, as well as their implications and limitations. Particular emphasis will be placed on the interpretation and analysis of qualitative and, possibly, quantitative data, using appropriate statistical and computational techniques as well as on the presentation of empirical findings.

Upon successful completion of the programme, the student will have acquired the knowledge and skills to pursue a career in which he / she will take advantage of the excellent opportunities for international networking with companies, public bodies, non-profit organizations and social economy institutions. You will benefit from the practical experience and dynamism of many executives from private companies and organizations, receiving a variety of business incentives from Greece and abroad, taking part in international business missions and research programmes, and knowing in great detail the emerging and most modern practices in the field of trade, management and business development.
