The Department of English Literature at DEI College seeks to train students in the study of the english language, theoretical and applied linguistics, literature of the English speaking world, literary studies and criticism and comparative literature. The English Literature degrees offered, are designed to help students internalise basic knowledge and then build sound theoretical foundations, critical thinking and research skills that may be applied to future studies on a higher level. At the same time, the programmes teach the english language and culture and foster moral responsibility and sensitivity in gender issues, while encouraging constructive criticism of various cultural practices and ideologies.
